Research supports that several biological variables can significantly affect attention and cognitive regulation: iron deficiency (particularly relevant in children and menstruating women), omega-3 deficiency, magnesium insufficiency, thyroid dysfunction, food sensitivities, gut dysbiosis affecting neurotransmitter production, blood sugar instability, and sleep disorders. Environmental toxin exposure, including heavy metals, has also been implicated in neurodevelopmental concerns. We assess these systematically, not to replace a psychiatric evaluation, but to ensure the full picture has been considered.
